“Founded in 1984 in Oxford, England, Verse has been co-edited by Brian Henry since 1995. As of 2005, the University of Richmond has provided a home for the magazine. Verse focuses on contemporary English-language poetry, poetry in translation, innovative fiction and cross-genre writing, interviews with writers, and criticism (book reviews, essay/reviews, and essays). Poems from Verse have been awarded the Pushcart Prize and have appeared in The Norton Anthology of Contemporary Poetry and numerous editions of the Best American Poetry.”-from Verse website
